Quicken check styles

Quicken prints three check styles. Choose one before you order, because the style you set in Quicken has to match the paper:

  • Standard checks: three business-size checks on each letter-size sheet. The Quicken store sells them as Laser Multi-Purpose Checks, 3 per sheet.
  • Voucher checks: one check at the top of the page and two voucher stubs below, which give you and the payee a record of the payment. Common for bills and payroll.
  • Wallet checks: three smaller checks per sheet, the size of a personal checkbook check.

Quicken prints your logo on standard or voucher checks but not on wallet checks, using a BMP, JPG or PNG file (Quicken help). Other printers call voucher checks top laser checks and standard checks 3 per page laser checks.

Quicken check prices compared

Single (one-part) checks, list prices on each seller’s product page, checked October 20, 2026. The Quicken store sells in its own quantities, so compare the cost per check.

The official Quicken check store

The Quicken check store at checks.quicken.com is run by Harland Clarke under license from Quicken, as its footer shows. What it offers on its own pages:

  • Business checks guaranteed compatible with Quicken, QuickBooks, MS Dynamics, Xero, Sage and more, at what it calls 25% off bank pricing.
  • Free standard shipping on all orders.
  • Laser Multi-Purpose checks with 11 security features, including UV dull paper, microprint, fugitive ink and chemical reactivity. Its high-security line has 30 advanced security features.
  • Fraud monitoring, stolen document recovery and identity restoration with computer check orders.
  • Quicken’s triple guarantee: your bank accepts the checks, they work with your Windows-compatible printer, and the order is printed exactly as you submitted it.

To order from inside Quicken, choose Tools, then Write and Print Checks, and click Order Checks. You can also order by phone at 1-855-323-3368 (Quicken support).

Quicken-compatible checks from other printers

Quicken checks follow the standard laser check layouts, and other printers sell them for less. Carousel top laser checks and Bank Checks Plus top laser checks both state they are compatible with QuickBooks, Quicken, Microsoft Money and many more programs, with two perforated stubs for record keeping. If your software is not listed, both say they custom format your checks at no extra charge. For standard checks, order Carousel 3 per page laser checks or Bank Checks Plus 3 per page laser checks.

Checks Unlimited also prints computer checks for Intuit Quicken on its business site; its software list names the programs it formats for, and it lists QuickBooks computer checks at 500 for as low as $99.55.

Switching printers does not change anything inside Quicken. Your check style, logo setting, alignment and next check number stay the same; you only enter the first number of the new box when you print. Keep the old box until the new checks have printed cleanly, then shred any unused sheets with your old account details if you closed that account.

Whichever printer you choose, order the same style you set in Quicken, enter your routing and account numbers carefully, and print one test check on plain paper when the box arrives.

How to print checks in Quicken

  1. Choose Tools, then Write and Print Checks, or press Ctrl+W.
  2. Select the account, then enter the payee, the amount, the payee address and an optional memo, and record the check.
  3. Load the check sheets in your printer and choose Print Checks.
  4. On the first sheet, print a sample and follow the alignment steps if the text sits off the lines.
  5. Enter the number of the first check on the sheet so your register matches the paper.

Quicken requires Arial Regular 10 point for the numeric dollar amount, because check scanners used under the Check 21 law reject incompatible fonts in that field (Quicken printer setup). You can change the font of the other fields.

Envelopes, logos and deposit slips

All Quicken checks fit Quicken double-window envelopes, which show both your address and the payee address, so there is nothing to write on the envelope. Laser checks from other printers use the same layout; our check envelopes guide lists the sizes. For deposits, see our deposit slips guide.

Printing personal checks or using Sage? Our personal laser checks guide compares 3-per-sheet wallet checks for home software, and our Sage 50 checks guide compares the Sage store with lower-priced middle checks.

Sage, Peachtree and other software

The Quicken store sells the same business checks for Sage and Xero users, and the Checks Unlimited software list includes Peachtree, the program now sold as Sage 50. QuickBooks users can read our QuickBooks voucher checks guide, and anyone printing on blank stock can compare programs in our check printing software guide.
