Which check format Sage 50 uses
Sage software prints the payee, amount, date and stub details onto pre-printed check sheets. The bank details, check number and MICR line are already on the sheet. Sage describes its Laser Multi-Purpose Check, Middle (L-MP98) as a multi-purpose middle check with two voucher stubs, compatible with Sage 50 US, Sage 100 ERP, Sage BusinessWorks and other software. One supply handles accounts payable and payroll, because the open stub takes either remittance details or payroll earnings and deductions.
Older Peachtree versions list the same middle style. Sage’s accounts payable middle check (L-AP21) names Sage 50 US (Peachtree) for Windows 3.0 to 7.0, and the Checks Unlimited computer check software list names Peachtree Windows 2.0 through 7.0, Peachtree 8.0 to 9.0, Best Software MAS 90 and MAS 90 for Windows. Sage also sells top checks and three-per-sheet checks, but it names other programs, such as QuickBooks, as their compatible software, not Sage 50.
Before you order: print one check from Sage 50 on plain paper and hold it over a sample sheet. If the check sits in the middle with a stub above and below, order a middle-format laser check. Checks Unlimited asks users of software that is not on its list to call 1-800-954-5590 before ordering.
