Who is Harland Clarke?
Harland Clarke prints personal and business checks and describes itself as part of the Vericast family, and its site sends bank and credit union professionals to its parent company, Vericast, based in San Antonio, Texas. Vericast traces the business to the Maverick-Clark Lithograph Company (San Antonio, 1874) and the John H. Harland Company (Atlanta, 1923), says the company pioneered MICR printing in the 1950s, and dates Harland Clarke to 2007, when the two were combined.
Harland Clarke also sits behind several retail check sites. Costco Checks is operated by Harland Clarke Check Printing of Salt Lake City, Checks In The Mail is a Vericast business, and the CheckSafe fraud service sold with Walmart checks is owned and managed by Harland Clarke Corp.

How to order Harland Clarke checks

- Go to harlandclarke.com and choose Order Checks, or use your bank’s Order Checks link.
- Log in with your financial institution’s routing number, your account number and your ZIP code. The routing number is the first series of numbers at the bottom of a check, and the account number is the second.
- Pick your checks and accessories from the catalog, choose a delivery method and confirm.
- Track the order under Order Status.
Rules to know: some banks require a first-time check order to be placed directly with the bank; after that, reorders go through OrderMyChecks.com. Harland Clarke says a waiting period can apply between orders. It keeps order history for three years, so if your last order is older than that, a reorder won’t go through and you place a new order from the catalog instead. Name and address changes go through your bank.

The Harland Clarke charge on your account
Harland Clarke’s FAQ says the total price of your order is deducted automatically from your checking account. That debit is the Harland Clarke charge you see on your account. To see the billing details, log in and open Order Status. For a billing concern or to cancel, call Harland Clarke; it can’t cancel orders online.

Delivery and order status
- Shipping methods depend on your bank and the products you order. Harland Clarke recommends a trackable method.
- Next day and two-day trackable are its fastest methods. Orders received by 11:00 a.m. local time, Monday to Friday, are produced and shipped the same day. They need a street address (no P.O., FPO or APO boxes), and the expedited and in-plant rush fees come on top of standard delivery.
- Alaska and Hawaii addresses can get two-day trackable by contacting the bank. Next day trackable is not available for international addresses.
- Boxes of checks are packaged individually, and accessories ship from a different location, so parts of one order often arrive separately. If the checks haven’t arrived by the date in your confirmation email, contact your bank; for missing accessories, contact Harland Clarke.
