MIA Never Forgotten checks and other POW/MIA designs
MIA – Never Forgotten (Carousel item PAT-23) is still sold. It rotates four symbolic images that honor service members who never came home; the first is a red rose resting on a folded American flag. Carousel also sells two closely related designs: POW/MIA Never Forgotten (RIB-23), a gray awareness ribbon with the words “never forgotten,” and MIA Flags (MIL-48), which shows the black POW/MIA flag flying with the Stars and Stripes.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency still lists tens of thousands of Americans as unaccounted for from World War II through later conflicts. National POW/MIA Recognition Day falls on the third Friday of September, when many families order these designs.

Which POW/MIA design fits you?
Families of a missing service member often choose the quieter rose-and-flag images of MIA – Never Forgotten. Veterans who already fly the black flag at home tend to prefer MIA Flags, which repeats the flag’s “You Are Not Forgotten” motto. The ribbon design is the simplest of the three and is the only one we found with matching labels.
