The Navy Federal order checks page lists seven steps. We followed the same wording here so you can match each screen:
- Sign in to Navy Federal online banking.
- Choose either your Checking or Money Market Savings Account from the Account Summary page.
- Select Show Details, then click Order New Checks.
- You are sent to a new page. Browse the featured check designs.
- Personalize your checks. Navy Federal notes that personalization is limited and can include name, font and image.
- Preview and select Add to Cart.
- Click Check out.

What Navy Federal checks cost
Navy Federal does not list a dollar price for checks. Its Fees and Charges page says check orders and accessories have prices that vary depending on the style and quality selected, and sends members to online banking for the complete product line and pricing. The printed Schedule of Fees and Charges says the same thing for checks, checkbook covers and accessories: pricing varies by style and quantity.
That means the only way to see the Navy Federal price is to sign in and add a box to the cart. Write down the price for one box, the number of checks in it and the shipping charge, then compare it with the printer prices below before you check out.
Which Navy Federal accounts get free checks
Navy Federal’s Switch to a Navy Federal Checking Account guide answers this in its account comparison chart:
- Free Active Duty Checking: free personalized traditional checks for the life of the account.
- Flagship Checking, Free Easy Checking, Free Campus Checking and Free EveryDay Checking: the chart lists checks as available, with no free-checks promise.
- New checking accounts: the same guide says Navy Federal forwards a complimentary initial supply of checks printed with your name and address and any joint owner, plus a Check Order Selections brochure.

Navy Federal vs a check printer
Checks from an independent printer work on a Navy Federal account because the printer uses the same routing number and account number in the MICR line at the bottom of the check. Checks Unlimited’s FAQ says the routing number you enter gives it all the information it needs about your financial institution. Prices checked October 20, 2026, 80 checks per box:

Patriotic and military check designs
Navy Federal serves the armed forces, the Department of Defense, veterans and their families, and a lot of members want a design that says so. These Checks Unlimited designs were in stock on October 20, 2026, and all of them cost the standard $23.49 for one box:

- American Heroes checks: a patriotic illustration that honors first responders.
- America the Beautiful checks: patriotic images by Debbie Mumm, with matching labels and cover.
- God and Country checks: a cross with the American flag.
- Gold Ribbons of Support checks: a ribbon design with an optional message printed over the signature line.
