What Zen checks look like
Checks Unlimited sums up its Zen checks in one line: find inner peace and harmony with these Asian-inspired designs. The artwork is by Walter Knabe, and the box rotates four scenes, one per check:
- Dragonfly: a violet dragonfly in the upper left over a pale aqua damask pattern.
- Fern: a dark fern frond on golden yellow, with faint columns of calligraphy behind the writing lines.
- Butterfly: a turquoise butterfly on a lavender-blue background with the same faint calligraphy.
- Red blossoms: a red flower in the corner on a peach background, with a row of pressed blossoms along the bottom edge.
The colors are soft and the patterns sit behind the text, so the payee line, the amount box and the signature line stay easy to read. The product code is 557, and Checks Unlimited notes that its preview images are enhanced to show detail on the check. Checks Unlimited files the design under both its Religious and its Inspirational check categories, but the four checks show nature motifs and patterns, with no Bible verse or cross.
They are standard top-tear personal checks with the bank information in the MICR line, so they work with any U.S. checking account. Zen checks come in singles or duplicates; duplicates add a carbonless copy under each check. Our duplicate checks guide explains when the copy is worth the extra cost.
Zen check prices
Prices checked October 21, 2026, 80 checks per box, handling included:
| Design | 1 box (80) | 2 boxes (160) | 4 boxes (320) | Duplicates, 1 box |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zen | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
| Natural Inspirations | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
| Botanical Silhouettes | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
| Peace | $26.49 | $44.29 | $81.79 | $32.49 |
| Blue Classic (plain, for comparison) | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
Zen checks cost the same as the plain Blue Classic design, so the artwork adds nothing to the price. One box works out to about 29 cents a check and four boxes to about 23 cents, so ordering four boxes at once is the cheaper way to buy. Duplicate Zen checks cost $29.49 for one box, $48.99 for two and $90.49 for four. Peace is the one design in the table in the higher $26.49 tier.
On October 21, 2026 the Checks Unlimited Special Offers page listed two codes, and only one code works per order: 8FJD for a free 4th box of checks with a 4-box order, and KQTG for up to 30% off 2 boxes or up to 35% off 4 boxes. The page says to enter the code to apply these offers to any of its check designs. Our Checks Unlimited guide explains which one saves more on your order.

Zen labels and cover
- Zen labels: sets of 200 self-sticking return address labels, 2-5/8 by 5/8 inches, $8.99 a set.
- Zen checkbook cover: $18.99. Checks Unlimited describes it as a light blue leather cover adorned with dragonflies; the preview shows three dragonflies among pale green leaves and swirls.
- Check register: $3.49 for a spare register with a deposit record and 31 full pages.
All three are offered as add-ons on the Zen check page. Covers and labels ship separately from the checks, and Checks Unlimited says they can take up to 3 weeks to arrive. Our checkbook covers guide shows plain leather options from $14.99.
Other calm and nature checks
If you like the quiet look of the Zen set, these Checks Unlimited designs share the same mood. All are standard top-tear personal checks:
| Design | What is on the checks | 1 box (80) | Matching extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Natural Inspirations | Reflection, Peace, Happiness and Tranquility, each with its Chinese symbol, over a water drop, footprints in sand, sunflowers and a red maple leaf | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Botanical Silhouettes | Birds, butterflies, dragonflies and bees in white silhouette on colored backgrounds | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Tulip Whispers | Tulips in full bloom in soft illustrations | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Earth Echoes | An inspirational verse with photos of polar bears, a gray wolf, an orca and a bald eagle | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Simple Expressions | Art by Connie Haley with the words Smile, Enjoy, Inspire and Dream | $23.49 | Cover $18.99 |
| Peace | Peace signs on bright floral backgrounds | $26.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Serenity by Thomas Kinkade | Kinkade’s English countryside paintings | $23.49 | Cover $18.99, labels $8.99 |
Natural Inspirations is the closest match: it pairs one calm theme word and its Chinese symbol with a nature photo on each check. Botanical Silhouettes repeats the dragonfly and butterfly motifs in a flatter, graphic style. Our peace checks, butterfly checks and dragonfly checks pages cover those single motifs, and our Thomas Kinkade checks guide covers the Serenity paintings.

How to order Zen checks
- Have a current check from the same account in front of you. The account number, routing number and next check number come from it.
- Pick singles or duplicates and the number of boxes. Each box holds 80 checks.
- Enter your name, address, bank routing number, account number and the starting check number, as the Checks Unlimited how-to-order page asks.
- Add the Zen labels, the Zen cover or a spare register on the same page if you want them.
- Proofread the preview, especially the account number, then pick delivery and pay.
The Checks Unlimited FAQ says the routing number you enter gives the printer all the information it needs about your bank, and that standard printing generally takes 2 to 5 business days. The how-to-order page lists the same fields we did above. Our reorder guide walks through each screen.
Delivery and security
The product page lists printing and standard untrackable delivery at up to 15 business days and printing with standard trackable delivery at 7 to 11 business days, both counted after order verification. In-Plant Rush costs $6.99 and gets the order processed and ready to ship within 2 business days after verification. SentryShield fraud protection is added to every order for an extra charge that you can remove in the cart.
Every design on this page carries the same three security features as the plain Checks Unlimited checks: chemical protection, erasure protection and a microprint signature line. If you mail checks often, our check washing guide explains how to make them harder to alter.
