What Safari checks look like
Checks Unlimited says an exciting adventure awaits you with its Safari checks and that the design features some of Africa’s native animals. The product page shows four photo scenes on a soft background: two zebras grazing on green grass, two cheetahs resting side by side, a close view of elephants, and a lion with a full mane. The photos run across the full width of the check, behind the payee line, the amount box and the signature line.
The checks are the standard top-tear personal format with the bank information in the MICR line at the bottom, so they work with any U.S. checking account, the same as the checks your bank sells. The product code is 912. Checks Unlimited notes that its preview images are enhanced to show detail on the check.
Safari checks come in singles or duplicates. Duplicates add a carbonless copy under each check, so you keep a record of every check you write. Our duplicate checks guide explains when the copy is worth the extra cost.
Elephant checks
If you came here for elephant checks, the Safari set is the design to look at. Its elephant scene shows the animals close up in natural color, and it shares the box with the zebra, cheetah and lion scenes. It is the only elephant artwork among the Checks Unlimited personal check designs we checked, so an all-elephant box is not on offer there.
Two other ways to get an elephant on your checks: upload your own elephant photo to Checks Unlimited photo checks, which print one picture of your choice on every check, or pick a cover with the animal you like best and plain checks inside it. Our photo checks guide covers the image rules.
More wild animal check designs
Checks Unlimited sells several other wildlife designs in the same price range. Each one has four scenes in the box:
| Design | What is on the checks | 1 box (80) | Matching extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Safari | Zebras, cheetahs, elephants and a lion | $23.49 | Safari cover $18.99 |
| Ranger Rick Wild Babies | Baby gorillas, tiger cubs, a fox and a seal pup (National Wildlife Federation) | $26.49 | Ranger Rick cover $18.99 |
| Endangered Young’uns | Illustrated pairs of baby gray wolves, snow leopards, sea otters and arctic seals | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Wildlife Adventure | Painted deer, foxes, ducks and quail in their habitats | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
| Neon Safari | Bright zebra-stripe print in pink, orange and other colors | $23.49 | Labels $8.99 |
Ranger Rick Wild Babies is a National Wildlife Federation partner design, and Checks Unlimited prices it in its higher licensed tier. Neon Safari is a pattern rather than a photo, for people who want the animal-print look without a scene. Our zebra print checks and leopard checks pages show more print designs, and our wildlife checks guide covers North American animals and conservation group checks.
Safari check prices
Prices checked October 21, 2026, 80 checks per box, handling included:
| Design | 1 box (80) | 2 boxes (160) | 4 boxes (320) | Duplicates, 1 box |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Safari | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
| Neon Safari | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
| Ranger Rick Wild Babies | $26.49 | $44.29 | $81.79 | $32.49 |
| Blue Classic (plain, for comparison) | $23.49 | $38.99 | $72.29 | $29.49 |
Safari checks cost the same as the plain Blue Classic design, so the wildlife photos add nothing to the price. One box works out to about 29 cents a check and four boxes to about 23 cents, so ordering four boxes at once is the cheaper way to buy. Duplicate Safari checks cost $29.49 for one box, $48.99 for two and $90.49 for four.
On October 21, 2026 the Checks Unlimited Special Offers page listed two codes, and only one code works per order: 8FJD for a free 4th box of checks with a 4-box order, and KQTG for up to 30% off 2 boxes or up to 35% off 4 boxes. The page says to enter the code to apply these offers to any of its check designs. Our Checks Unlimited guide explains which one saves more on your order.

How to order Safari checks
- Have a current check from the same account in front of you. The account number, routing number and next check number come from it.
- Pick singles or duplicates and the number of boxes. Each box holds 80 checks.
- Enter your name, address, bank routing number, account number and the starting check number, as the Checks Unlimited how-to-order page asks.
- Add the Safari cover if you want it. It is listed on the same product page as an add-on.
- Proofread the preview, especially the account number, then pick delivery and pay.
The Checks Unlimited FAQ says the routing number you enter gives the printer all the information it needs about your bank, and that standard printing generally takes 2 to 5 business days. The how-to-order page lists the same fields we did above. Our reorder guide walks through each screen.
Delivery and security
The Safari product page lists one shipping line: printing and standard delivery in up to 15 business days after order verification. In-Plant Rush, chosen at checkout, gets the order processed and ready to ship within 2 business days after verification. SentryShield fraud protection is added to every order for an extra charge that you can remove in the cart.
The other designs in the table list standard untrackable delivery at up to 15 business days and standard trackable delivery at 7 to 11 business days. Every design on this page carries the same three security features as the plain Checks Unlimited checks: chemical protection, erasure protection and a microprint signature line. If you mail a lot of checks, our check washing guide explains how to make them harder to alter.
