Writing payroll by hand? Our 3 per page business checks guide shows the Payroll General Purpose and Salaried/Hourly 3-on-a-page layouts, and our business checks with logo guide explains how to add your logo to any business check.

Carousel prints your company logo, storefront or another image you own on Custom Photo Payroll Business Checks: 300 singles cost $50.50 and 300 duplicates $83.50. The first image is included and each additional image is a one-time $7.99 charge. Carousel prints only images you own the copyright to.

Singles or duplicates?

Singles are one-part checks; you record each paycheck on the stub. Duplicates add a carbonless copy under every check, so a copy stays with your records even if the stub is left blank. For payroll, duplicates give you a second record of each employee’s pay for 30 dollars more per 300 at Carousel ($70.50 instead of $40.50).

More on the format in our duplicate checks guide.

What comes with the order

  • Deposit tickets: 30 deposit tickets per 300 checks.
  • Binder fit: the manual payroll checks are designed to fit a 7-ring business binder.
  • Fraud protection (optional): EZShield Check Fraud Protection covers unauthorized use of up to $25,000 for an added fee.

Keeping a record of each paycheck? Log every check number, date and amount in a register. Carousel sells the full-size Executive Deskbook Register and the Business Pocket Check Register for $5.50 each (checked October 20, 2026); compare pocket, deskbook and spiral registers in our check registers guide.

How many payroll checks to order

Count your pay runs. A business that pays 5 employees every two weeks writes 130 paychecks a year (26 pay periods times 5), so 300 manual checks last a little over two years and 600 last more than four. Paying weekly doubles that count. Other things to settle before you order:

  • Start the new order at the check number after the last paycheck you wrote, so the sequence never repeats.
  • If you keep payroll in a separate checking account, order the payroll checks on that account, not your operating account.
  • Reorder before the last sheet runs out: delivery plus processing takes days, and a missed payday is costly.

How to order and delivery

  1. Pick manual (3 per page) or laser, then the payroll style.
  2. Choose singles or duplicates and the quantity.
  3. Enter the business name and address, routing number, account number and starting check number exactly as your bank has them.
  4. Add a logo if you want one and check every detail before you check out.
  5. Choose delivery and pay.

Delivery: Carousel Checks lists Next Day Air (1 to 2 business days), 2nd Day Air (2 to 3), Ground (2 to 5), Trackable (3 to 7), USPS Priority (7 to 10) and Bulk (9 to 18 business days), plus processing time. Bank Checks Plus lists the same carrier options (Next Day Air 1 to 2 business days through USPS Priority 7 to 10), plus processing time.

Deposit supplies: a For Deposit Only stamp for incoming checks, deposit slips and bank deposit bags for the bank run.
