American National Bank is now Associated Bank

Associated Banc-Corp completed its merger with American National Corporation, including its bank subsidiary American National Bank, on April 1, 2026. On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, American National accounts and services became Associated Bank accounts and services, and American National Bank branches began operating as Associated Bank branches.

The two banks now operate as one organization under the Associated Bank name, and you see that name on every former American National Bank location. Associated says the combination took it into Nebraska and Iowa and strengthened its presence in Minnesota, with executive presence in Omaha and Minneapolis. Your local bankers, branch staff and relationship managers stay the same.

Several unrelated banks use the American National name. This guide is for the American National Bank that merged into Associated Bank; the bank name on your statement or debit card tells you which one you have.

How to order checks from Associated Bank

Associated takes check orders in Associated Bank Digital, in its branches and by phone:

1. Online or in the app: sign in to Associated Bank Digital, select the account you want checks for, and under Manage account select Order checks. If you’ve ordered checks before, Associated fills in your account information, and you can repeat a previous order or pick new designs and accessories. You can view your order status at any time.
2. Phone: call the Customer Care Center at 800-236-8866.
3. Branch: visit any Associated Bank branch, including the former American National Bank branches.

First time in Associated Bank Digital? Have your Associated Bank account number or debit card number ready. Go to AssociatedBank.com or download the Associated Bank Digital app, select New to digital banking? Start here, and follow the prompts: you choose a username and password and get a one-time passcode by phone call or text message. Once you’re signed in, delete the American National Bank mobile banking app from your device.

Business checks: sign in to digital banking, click the account and under Manage Account select Order checks. Commercial banking clients can call the business customer care line at 800-728-3501.

Some deposit account numbers changed when accounts moved to Associated Bank on October 13, 2026, because of system or security requirements. If yours changed, Associated mailed the new number to you in mid-September, and it also appears in digital banking. Put the new number on any checks you order.
